Amazing Photo Video is hiring drone pilots, real estate photographers, videographers and Matterport technicians across Toronto and the GTA. If you hold a Transport Canada advanced RPAS certificate or shoot magazine-grade real estate stills, you can put those skills on some of the most expensive listings in the country — the team behind them has helped market more than $5B in luxury property. Why shoot with APV

Real Estate Photographer

You capture magazine-grade interiors and exteriors, primarily hand-blended HDR, and hit a consistent look across every room.

Requirements: a portfolio of interior/architectural work; comfort with flash and ambient blending; your own camera body and wide-angle glass (or willingness to run ours); reliable transport across the GTA; punctuality on tight MLS timelines.

What a week looks like: multiple shoots a day at peak, mostly occupied and staged homes, each a fast, disciplined pass — exteriors, main living spaces, kitchen, primary, baths, outdoor. You upload the same day; our editors return finished galleries inside 24–48 hours. Twilight and multi-flash upgrades come up often on the higher-end files.

Drone Pilot — Transport Canada advanced certificate required

You fly aerial photo and video that shows lot size, neighbourhood context, and proximity to water, parks and downtown — the shots that signal high production value fast and double as stock imagery agents reuse across socials and print.

Requirements: a valid Transport Canada advanced operations RPAS pilot certificate (see the licence section below — advanced is non-negotiable because so many GTA sites sit in controlled airspace or near bystanders); a current drone you can insure, or willingness to fly ours; airspace-awareness discipline and clean pre-flight habits; strong sense of composition for real estate, not just clean flying.

What a week looks like: a mix of drone-only add-ons and full packages where drone rides alongside photo, video and Matterport. Expect controlled-airspace requests near the airport corridor, waterfront estate work up toward Lake Simcoe, and twilight drone sessions on premium listings. FPV and indoor drone work is a growing premium line for pilots who can fly it cleanly.

Videographer / Editor

You produce cinematic listing tours and vertical social cuts — the videos that get seen on Realtor.ca, the MLS and YouTube, that agents forward to clients who forward them to friends and family.

Requirements: gimbal and cinematic-movement fluency; an editing eye for pacing, colour and sound; ability to cut both a horizontal cinematic tour and vertical Reels from the same shoot; comfort turning files around inside the pipeline.

What a week looks like: listing tours, agent promo and talking-head "yap" videos, and batch social reel packs. Shooting days pair with edit days; the goal is a finished, share-ready cut inside the 24–48 hour window.

Matterport Technician

You scan homes into accurate 3D tours and floor plans that let buyers and tenants walk a property before they ever book a showing.

Requirements: methodical, detail-oriented scanning; ability to run both Matterport Pro 2 and Pro 3 workflows (we own both); understanding of MLS-safe tour links; floor-plan accuracy (floor plans are included with our Matterport packages).

What a week looks like: scans that often ride along with a photo/video crew on the same appointment, plus standalone 3D and floor-plan jobs. You capture on site and hand off for processing and delivery.

Where we shoot — and where we're going

Right now the work is Toronto and the GTA, dense and constant, from the downtown core out through the 905 and up to the estate and cottage market on Lake Simcoe. That is the immediate coverage area and where new hires start.

The bigger picture: APV is growing. The people who join early are the ones who get first pick of new work as it opens up, lead crews, and grow with the company instead of into a fixed seat. If you want to be a founding operator rather than employee number 400 somewhere else, this is the moment to get in.

Getting your drone pilot licence in Canada

If you want the drone pilot role but don't yet hold a certificate, here is the honest map. In Canada, any drone weighing 250 g to 25 kg must be flown under a Transport Canada Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) pilot certificate, and there are two levels.

Basic operations certificate. You pass the online Small Basic Exam (a small fee applies). No in-person flight review is required, and the certificate does not expire. Basic operations cover flying in uncontrolled airspace, staying at least 30 m horizontally from bystanders, and keeping well away from airports and heliports. Basic is enough for open-field, low-stakes flying — but it is not enough for most real estate work in the GTA.

Advanced operations certificate. You pass the online Small Advanced Exam, then complete a flight review with a Transport Canada–approved flight reviewer, and pay the application fee. Advanced is what lets you fly in controlled airspace, closer than 30 m to bystanders, and over bystanders — which is exactly what shooting occupied urban and suburban properties near the airport corridor demands. This is the certificate APV requires for its drone pilots.

What licence do I need to fly drones for Amazing Photo Video? You need a valid Transport Canada advanced operations RPAS pilot certificate. Because most GTA properties sit in controlled airspace or near bystanders, the basic certificate isn't sufficient — advanced lets you legally fly in controlled airspace, within 30 m of people, and over bystanders. If you only hold basic, you can still apply for photo, video or Matterport roles while you upgrade.

How does pay work? Compensation depends on the role, your experience, your gear, and whether you're staff or contract, so we discuss it directly at the interview stage rather than post a single number that wouldn't fit every situation. What we can tell you upfront is that the work is steady and high-end, and the pipeline is built so shooters spend their time shooting.

Which areas do you cover? Today the work is concentrated in Toronto and the GTA — from the downtown core through the 905 and up to Lake Simcoe. APV is expanding across Canada and into the US — join early, so pilots and shooters who join early get first access to new work as it opens.

Do I need my own equipment?
